Mid-Level to Senior Level Public Relations Professional

‍newsPRos, a national public relations agency, is adding to its team of professionals. We primarily, but not exclusively, provide media relations services to the legal industry. All of our work is focused on issues, not on consumer products.

‍The ideal candidate must be client-facing and able to lead an account, keeping all the plates spinning and being uber responsive. The position requires significant pitching with the expectation of producing high-quality media placements. We’re a team-centered organization, and we spend our time in-the-trenches talking to reporters, editors, producers, podcasters and other content producers. Experience in the legal industry is definitely a plus, although not a requirement. We deal with a broad range of business/legal issues including healthcare, energy, education, government regulation, civil rights and social justice, litigation, transactions, environment, tax, employment, insurance, technology, lobbying, among many others.

‍The position is fully remote but could include some limited travel to clients’ offices.

We are looking for a professional with experience doing the following:

  • Leading a client account

  • Interfacing with lawyers and other clients to stay abreast of issues in their wheelhouse

  • ‍Developing mini media plans for a practice or individual lawyer

  • ‍Developing timely pitches

  • ‍Monitoring the news, legislation, regulatory developments, both federal and state, in multiple industry sectors

  • ‍Maintaining relationships with reporters, editors, producers, content developers

  • ‍Researching and building targeted media lists, quickly

  • ‍Pitching reporters at top-tier media outlets and other high visibility opportunities

  • ‍Maintaining workflow and follow-up on multiple projects simultaneously without dropping the ball

  • ‍Drafting written materials including press releases, talking points, media statements, social posts, and surveys and nominations

  • Maintaining personal administrative work, time, client activity reports, etc.

We are a collegial team that works closely together and we are true partners with our clients. We have great clients and long-lasting relationships with both clients and the media. We have all the bells and whistles needed to effectively do the work.  This position requires exceptional client management skills and getting the results the clients expect. You need to bring your A game every day. The salary range is $100K to $150K depending on experience and credentials.
