Law Firm Media Professionals (LFMP) is a national association of in-house and outside media and marketing professionals dedicated to improving how they deliver public relations and communications services to the outstanding law firms they serve.

LFMP was formed in New York City in 2002 by two in-house P.R. pros, Joshua M. Peck and Dara McQuillan, who observed that there was no steady place to meet with other specialists in legal media relations and discuss the issues and challenges unique to this area of legal marketing. The primary objective of the group is to provide members with a forum to exchange ideas, experiences and information on a wide variety of communications and media issues, sometimes with members of the press themselves.  The group shares its insights with one another in relatively informal, but fully interactive, monthly meetings which are consistently excellent educational and networking opportunities. The session locations vary and are hosted by the offices of the members' firms.

Since 2002, other cities have followed the concept and have launched to hold periodic or occasional meetings.  The most recent additions, Minneapolis and Los Angeles, join Washington, Boston, San Francisco, Houston, and Chicago (where the group is called Legal PR Chicago).  A London chapter is under discussion.  Each group operates independently under the guidance of local leadership, though inquiries about any of these chapters or potential new ones will be forwarded from the Contact email on this website.

Guest speakers to the group include lawyers, media specialists, and journalists from some of the most prestigious news affiliates in the world including the Wall Street Journal, Associated Press, and Bloomberg News.

"We started LFMP in 2002 with just the idea that law firm media personnel would benefit greatly from getting to know one another, sharing their experiences, and understanding that 'they are not alone.'"
