We are seeking a Social Media and SEO Specialist to effectively leverage social media to increase O’Melveny’s brand awareness and engagement among key audiences, including current and prospective clients, firm alumni, and potential job candidates. This position will also focus on effectively promoting firm content and driving traffic to the firm’s website. The Social Media and SEO Specialist must be a self-starter and will work closely with the firm’s Client Development and Talent Development teams to support strategic communications, marketing and branding goals on a firmwide basis. This position is located in San Francisco.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Using social media tactics to grow audiences, awareness, and engagement as part of the firm’s marketing and recruitment strategies
  • Maintaining and monitoring the firm’s social media presence on platforms including but not limited to, LinkedIn, Twitter, Facebook, blogs and other platforms
  • Developing and executing marketing and recruitment social media campaigns across multiple social platforms, including but not limited to, LinkedIn, Twitter, Facebook, LexBlog and other platforms, with cross-promotion on the firm’s website
  • Creating engaging content that promotes our firm brand and employer brand, including print, photo, art and video assets
  • Building and continuously enhancing SEO/SEM to improve search rankings
  • Tracking, analyzing and reporting on key metrics regarding website visitors and social media audiences through data analysis
  • Recommending content marketing strategies to create and repurpose content to grow audiences, awareness, and engagement metrics across multiple platforms
  • Developing and presenting recommendations for increasing followers on social media and increasing traffic to the firm’s website
  • Monitoring developments and recommending new social media platforms, tools and best-practices
  • Collaborating cross-functionally with other departments across the firm to leverage social media platforms for their initiatives and content
  • Helping to train others at the firm on strategic use of social media platforms


  • 2-4 years relevant experience in the digital and social content space. Experience in the professional services marketing space is preferred, but not required
  • Law firm experience is helpful
  • Bachelor’s Degree is preferred
  • Previous brand page (e.g., Twitter, Facebook) community management and content creation experience required
  • Experience with web analytics, SEO/SEM and social media analytics platforms including, but not limited to, Google Analytics, Facebook Insights and Tweetreach; familiarity with other analytics platforms a plus
  • Experience with LexBlog a plus
  • Exceptional verbal and written communications skills, with superior attention to detail
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, collaborative team environment
  • Must be agile and flexible, staying ahead of trends, platform changes and new platforms as they happen
  • Strong social media judgment, etiquette, and moderation skills
  • Editorial experience
  • Ability to develop creative, effective approaches to difficult challenges
  • Ability to use quantitative data and metrics to drive editorial decisions and marketing activities
  • Experience with mobile marketing and mobile social platforms is desirable
