International Law Firm with worldwide offices seeks media relations professional in Chicago office.
Individual must be a self-starter ---business, energy, financial services or legal background helpful. Demonstrated success in obtaining placements in major media outlets, excellent interpersonal communications skills, ability to make judgment calls and an understanding, appreciation and ability to work with extremely busy people are skills required for success in this position. This is a great job for a news junkie who wants to see the results of their hard work in the NYT, WSJ, Forbes, Chicago Tribune or on CNBC, which is an expectation. We expect you to bring you ‘A’ game to work every day. You will be part of a national team supporting the law firm’s media relations in the US, working closely with the firm’s lawyers and marketing team. You will need to be able to identify media opportunities, create compelling pitches that will land placements, handle media inquiries, draft submissions and surveys, provide counsel on message points and interview tactics, identify and place bylined articles and expert commentary in newspapers, business and trade media.
