Media Relations Coordinator

The Media Relations Coordinator provides substantive and administrative support to Fox Rothschild’s Media Relations team on items such as press releases, media pitches, media list creation and website updates. This position works closely with the Media Relations Manager and Marketing Communications Director.

Essential Functions

  • Maintain editorial calendars and media list database for the firm’s 22 offices and alert relevant team members to opportunities
  • Maintain monthly reporting of media relations activities
  • Participate in brainstorming and planning sessions with attorneys for story development
  • Conduct research to support public relations planning (potential topics, outlets, etc.)
  • Draft and distribute press releases, photo captions, electronic announcements and other materials
  • Review attorney articles and marketing materials
  • Support relationship with PR agency vendors
  • Assist in tracking media coverage and metrics
  • Develop ways to streamline communication and plan execution of PR initiatives
  • Undertake general administrative and clerical duties as needed
  • On-site photo support as needed
  • Social media support as needed

Requirements

  • Proven experience in a media relations position. At least 2 years of experience preferred.
  • Some travel required
  • Understanding of PR and marketing concepts and practices
  • Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Outlook, Word, PowerPoint and Excel
  • Excellent writing and proofreading skills
  • Well-organized, able to work with tight deadlines
  • Fluency with AP Style
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality
  • Maintain professional standards of tact, discretion, positive attitude and appearance
  • Bachelor’s degree is preferred but not required, preferably in communications, marketing or related field
