Corporate PR and Communications Specialist

June 1, 2016 - Large International Law Firm,

Coordinate closely with Public Relations and Communications Specialist for Litigation.

Writes and issues press announcements on an as needed basis, based on announced deals and timely matters.

Assists in fielding press inquires and preparing lawyers for interviews. Plays an active role in preparing responses for sensitive topics.

Analyzes editorial calendars for press opportunities.

Develops press introductions for Partners and prepares Firm materials, providing background on reporters, making meeting arrangements and attending meetings.

Monitors reporter moves for new introductions/contact opportunities and for updating targeted media lists and InterAction.

Provides material for articles in the Firm newsletter.

Maintains contact with various conference groups and assist in the development and coordination of speaking engagements for the lawyers.

Manages content for the Firm’s website, including “Top Stories” and “Extras” items.

Manages the PR aspects of directory submissions as stated above (e.g. Chambers, IFLR, PLC, Vault).

Researches publications and reporters and issues of interest for pitching purposes.

Manages the production of the Firm’s annual recruitment and Firm brochures.

Oversees a Public Relations and Communications Assistant who will assist in researching reporter’s work and topical information, locating appropriate speaking engagements, tracking editorial calendars, maintaining press lists and the media database, monitoring relevant press coverage and other duties as assigned.

Performs other duties as assigned.

Ability to handle multiple projects with challenging deadlines.

An understanding of complex corporate law issues impacting M&A, securities and banking.

III. JOB REQUIREMENTS

Education: BA or BS in Liberal Arts or business-related field required.

Experience: 7+ years of work-related experience.

Knowledge/Skills: Must have excellent oral and written communication skills.
